How Is Child Support Calculated in Florida?
Listen as Kissimmee family law attorney, Linda Gruszynski explains what factors are considered when the court awards child support in a Florida divorce case.
The main factor is how many overnight stays the child has with each parent. If overnight stays exceed seventy-three nights per year, that party’s child support obligation starts to be reduced rather significantly.
Additionally, the court will look at each party’s gross income. The court will also take into consideration expenses for insurance and day care costs, as those things can be deducted from gross income. These are just a few examples of the many factors that are considered when child support is calculated. Watch the video to learn more.
