Woman Killed In Kissimmee Pedestrian Accident

A pedestrian was recently killed in a crash after she was hit by a car in Kissimmee. The fatal crash occurred on the morning of November 11 on U.S. 192, also known as the Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.

A 40-year-old woman from Colorado was walking in a northbound direction when she entered the westbound lanes of the Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway at Simpson Road. She was not in a marked crosswalk when she attempted to cross the road and was hit by a Honda Civic that was driven by a 20-year-old woman from Kissimmee.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Photos taken at the accident scene show thick fog in the area.

• High beams can make matters worse. If you drive at night in the fog, you might think to use your high beams. This is a bad idea. Instead of increasing visibility, using your brights will scatter more light back at you. This will make conditions even worse.
